This year I have joined the Fireflies West group and on September 26th, we will be riding 630+ miles over 7 days from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
As you all know, the physical part is the easy part for me.
A little harder, is my fundraising goal of $5000.
So I need your help and here is my WHY:
Last year my paths crossed with , Angela Jackson, incredibly talented film editor, Midwesterner, and all around amazing human. Angela is living with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. This is her second diagnosis. Together we went on a journey to produce content about Angela’s hearts- desire, to sing in a gospel choir even though Angela thought she couldn’t sing.
When I first met Angela, I saw her creative talent and her sense of humor, but as I got to know her better I saw her courage.
Angela’s courage goes far beyond mine to climb a mountain or to train for a race. Angela’s courage comes from deep within, it allows her to face each day as she lives with cancer and live each day fully.
I saw Angela’s courage first hand when she auditioned for the gospel choir..oh boy what a moment! And, she worked hard training her body and her voice to not only carry a tune, but to withstand the endurance it takes to performs with the choir. Her transformation was earthshaking and with her she took all of us on an amazing ride. For that I am truly grateful.
Now, I want to give back and need your help.
