Every year approximately 50 Fireflies gather in San Francisco and cycle 550 miles down the Californian coast to Los Angeles to raise money for The City of Hope to aid research in blood cancers. The Fireflies are a group in the advertising and entertainment industries cycling for each other and the greater good.
This year, I will be one of them.
I ride in memory of my late father-in-law, dear friend and sorely-missed cycling buddy: Phil Nicholson. Phil succumbed to lung cancer last September after a 9-year battle. An avid athlete, Phil rode his bike over 250 days a year for almost 40 years, right up to his last months. He is my guiding spirit for this ride, exactly one year after his passing.
City of Hope is a leading research, treatment center dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancers and other life threatening illnesses guided by a compassionate patient-centered philosophy. City of Hope has the best overall outcome of any U.S. treatment center for Leukemia and other Blood Cancers.
I made a commitment to City of Hope and I have a lot of work to reach my fundraising goals.
I need your help.
Even small donations add up to make a big difference. Big donations make a bigger difference. Every tax deductible dollar you give goes directly to City of Hope to fight cancer. Each rider pays 100% of their expenses out of their (my) own pocket. .
Just click the big "Donate Now" button to make a tax-deductible donation. It's that easy and it's that important. Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you so very much for your time and consideration.
