I have joined the Walk for Hope because I love my wife Rose. Rose in turn loves and and is concerned for her sons and their loved ones, her mom, her sisters, her aunts, her cousins, her nieces, Sisters in law / Sisters by nature, her friends of old, and newly found and me. Also the young and not so young men who support her and this cause. She has been a role model to all of us and her recognition of the great work of the City of Hope inspires us to join in.

I have often compared Rose's battle with cancer to a bull rider like at Cow town Rodeo. Getting bucked off, kicked and stomped on then just brushing herself off, without even giving the bull the courtesy of a glance, then getting on the next bull. My recent tattoo, with the help of Carolyn Mortimer (artist) and Steve Tiberi tattoo artist at Olde City Tattoos in Philly, is my tribute to her toughness.

My mom, who Rose loved immensely, who was the sweetest person most people have ever met, also succumbed to a cancer that effects only women. This effort is also for you mom.

More than 275,000 women will be diagnosed with breast or a gynecological cancer this year. More than 25% of those women will die from these diseases. I want to save these women. I want to help City of Hope researchers find cures.

Walk for Hope will take place across the country with one mission - curing women's cancers. The Walk for Hope is more than a fundraising walk -- it is a movement. More than 20,000 women and men will come together this year from coast to coast to raise funds for this movement.

Please support Rose and the City of Hope's work. Small donations add up to make a big difference. Just hit the big "Donate" button -- you can't miss it -- and make a tax-deductible donation. It's that easy and it's that important.

I'm in. Are you?
