So,

My mom was diagnosed with oral cancer in her 60's and underwent immediate, radical surgery.  She survived and is a wonderfully feisty, amazing woman in her 80's today.  My awesome, paternal grandmother endured a radical, double masectomy in her 70's and lived into her 90's.  My beloved mother-in-law and step-mom have both endured a breast cancer diagnosis and they, too, have survived. A dear friend spent a fall and winter enduring hospital stays and chemotherapy and she is also a survivor. Sadly, several other moms I have known and loved have lost their fights against cancer.

Each of these women has faced their fears and they have fought courageous battles.  They have been strengthened by the knowledge and skills of their doctors and medical staff, the love and support of their incredible families and terrific friends and by the options made available through continued medical research.  Research matters!

I am walking with my GNO (girls night out) friends in the City of Hope's "Walk for Hope" on April 28th in Washington, D.C. and I have a personal fundraising goal.  It is humble:  $150.00   Will you please help me surpass it? (See below for more info)

Thank you for considering.  I appreciate it!

Peg

*****

I have joined Walk for Hope because I want to make a difference in the fight against women's cancers. More than 311,000 women will be diagnosed with breast or a gynecological cancer this year. More than 21% of those women will die from these diseases. I want to save these women. I want to help City of Hope researchers find cures. I want more women to live longer, healthier lives.

Walk for Hope will take place across the country with one mission -- curing women's cancers. Walk for Hope is more than a fundraising walk -- it is a movement. More than 20,000 women and men will come together this year from coast to coast to raise funds for this movement.

Please support me and City of Hope's work to help women live longer, healthier lives. Small donations add up to make a big difference. Just click the big "Donate Now" button to make a tax-deductible donation. It's that easy and it's that important.

I'm in. Are you?
