Hi Friends, & Family,
I have joined Yoga for Hope because I want to bring awareness to the healing benefits of Yoga for patients battling life threatening illnesses. My father, Keith is a 21 YEAR cancer survivor of multiple myeloma, who was treated at the City of Hope in 1994. My family and I are forever grateful for the experimental and kind treatment that he received from so many doctors and nurses. City of Hope is unique in that they treat their patients mind, body and spirit. My dad's cancer survivorship has had a profound impact on our lives teaching all of us to live life to the fullest. In addition to giving yoga a try in his 60's, my dad achieved a life long goal of traveling to Israel in 2012 (picture of us on the left taken in London, on our way to Israel).
At City of Hope, patients are offered gentle restorative Yoga classes as a complementary therapy to traditional treatments. This program has had a profound impact on quality of life for many City of Hope patients. In addition to researching complementary and alternative therapies, City of Hope conducts innovative, results oriented, patient focused research that examines the entire course of cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS ---from diagnosis and treatment, from remission and relapse to survivorship. As a result, we can develop more powerful treatments and prevention strategies that lessen the threat of disease for people everywhere.
Please support me and City of Hope's work. Small donations add up to make a big difference. Just hit the big "Donate" button -- you can't miss it -- and make a tax-deductible donation. It's that easy and it's that important. Thank you for making a difference.
