| Hike 4 Hope |
|

The 12th Annual Hike 4 Hope, a family-oriented, non-competitive hiking event to support women’s cancer research at City of Hope, was held on March 7, 2010. Over 800 hikers hit the trails in the Indian Canyons of Palm Springs. The unusually cool weather did not stop our participants from trekking on 10 different trails, ranging from easy to very strenuous.
Thanks to support from our Corporate Sponsors, teams and individual fundraisers, this year’s event raised over $157,000 and since its inception Hike 4 Hope has raised over $3 million in support of women’s cancer research!
We couldn’t have done it without you! But we want to do more….We want to save more women and build a future without women’s cancers.
Please plan to join us at our 13th Annual Hike 4 Hope on Sunday, March 6, 2011.

| In Memory of Jackie Rubin |
|
It is with tremendous sadness that we share the news that Jackie Rubin, our dear Hike4Hope Sponsor Chair and friend lost her courageous 14 year battle with cancer and passed away on April 13, 2009.
Jackie’s passion for City of Hope and her support of other cancer survivors was extraordinary.
Jackie helped make Hike4Hope the hospitable event it has become. As a founding member of the group, Jackie was able to get everything donated - all the snacks, all the goody bag giveaways, all the boutique items - in an untiring commitment to making the event so special. She made sure that the survivors had the proper recognition with pink hats, pink bandanas and pink scarves. She was their supreme champion and an inspiration. Despite her ongoing battle with cancer, Jackie always gave her job 150%!
She will be sorely missed and the event will never quite be the same without her caring energy. But we can always be proud of the strong foundation she set for the event by showing us how to be gracious and welcoming even in the face of adversity.
Jackie, we will never ever forget you and what you accomplished on the behalf of others.
